In this video, Dr. Rowe interviews Greg Henson, Ph.D., president of Kairos University, and Aaron Einfeld, Ph.D., director of lifelong learning at Calvin Theological Seminary. Dr. Einfield discusses that while change is often approached as a technical process, its success hinges on shifting individual behaviors. He notes that resistance typically stems not from the change itself, but from the sense of loss it may bring, making fear and grief key emotions leaders must acknowledge and address.

Dr. Henson expands on this by observing that many strategic planning efforts falter because they bypass the essential work of aligning organizational values and practices. Without a shared understanding of the core issues and a clear sense of identity, change initiatives are unlikely to take root. He stresses that meaningful transformation must begin with honest reflection and alignment.

Dr. Einfield encourages organizations to examine underlying fears and assumptions, likening transformational change to a process of spiritual formation. Dr. Henson agrees, adding that fostering a culture of innovation, focused on learning and experimentation rather than quick outcomes, builds the capacity for lasting change.

Together, they offer a vision of change that is not only strategic but deeply human and relational.
