
The voting members of the In Trust Center for Theological Schools have elected three people to the board of directors for the first time and re-elected two others.
The election was held late last year with more than 100 executive leaders at voting member institutions responding.
The terms start January 1, 2026, and run for three years.
Current board members Patricia Maloney and Jul Medenblik were re-elected. Agnes Chiu, who was appointed to the board last year, was elected to a full term. As well, Sister Barbara Reid and Evan Taddia were elected for the first time.
Maloney is a retired principal engineer who had a full career in aerospace, defense, and energy. A Roman Catholic laywoman, she has served on a variety of boards and currently serves on the board of Louisville Presbyterian Theological Seminary and Franciscan Mission Service. She has a long history of service in theological education, including having served on the board of the Washington Theological Union.
Medenblik is the seventh president of Calvin Theological Seminary in Grand Rapids, Michigan. He is a former practicing attorney and church planter who holds an M.Div. from Calvin. He serves as treasurer of the In Trust Center’s board.
Chiu is the Director of Research and Strategic Initiatives and the Center for Public Theology of China Evangelical Seminary North America in California. In addition to holding a Ph.D. in Christian Ethics from Fuller Seminary, she also has a law degree from UCLA School of Law.
Reid, a Dominican Sister of Grand Rapids, Michigan, stepped down last year as president of Catholic Theological Union in Chicago, where she still serves as president emerita and as the Carroll Stuhlmueller, CP Distinguished Professor of New Testament Studies. Before a four-year tenure as president, she served from 2009 to 2018 as academic dean. She holds a Ph.D. in Biblical Studies from The Catholic University of America in Washington, D.C.
Taddia is a seasoned financial executive and ministry leader who serves as the director of strategic operations and student engagement of Baylor University’s George W. Truett Seminary. For more than two decades, he has served in nonprofit and church leadership roles, as well as business development, and has been the business officer and finance manager at the seminary.
