
Ionuț-Alexandru Tudorie
President, St. Vladimir’s Orthodox Theological Seminary
St. Vladimir’s Orthodox Theological Seminary (SVOTS) named Dr. Ionuț-Alexandru Tudorie as president, effective July 1, 2025, after an international search. He has served as interim president since June 2024, succeeding the Very Rev. Chad Hatfield, Ph.D., who retired after 17 years in the role.
Previously, Tudorie was academic dean and professor of church history, where he strengthened SVOTS’ academic programs, recruited top faculty, and expanded global pan-Orthodox relationships. Recognized for excellence in teaching, he received the 2024 St. Macrina Award, an honor voted on by students. As SVOTS’ interim president, he eliminated a nearly $2 million budget deficit, closing the first half of the fiscal year with a $100,000 surplus.
A distinguished scholar, Tudorie holds degrees in theology and Byzantine history, including a Ph.D. in theology and a Ph.D. in Byzantine history. He began his theological education in 1991 at the historic Bishop Kesarie Seminary in Buzău, Romania. His research on Byzantine imperial ideology has earned international recognition, including the 2016 Nicolae Iorga Prize.

David F. Watson
Asbury Theological Seminary
Following an extensive nationwide search, the Board of Trustees of Asbury Theological Seminary has elected David F. Watson, Ph.D., as its next president. He succeeds Dr. Timothy C. Tennent, who served for 15 years, and interim president Dr. David J. Gyertson.
Watson previously served at United Theological Seminary in Dayton, Ohio, where he held various roles, including senior vice president, academic dean, and professor of the New Testament. His leadership was instrumental in revitalizing United by enhancing its theological focus, increasing enrollment, and expanding global partnerships. He spearheaded initiatives such as the Hispanic Christian Academy, a new Master of Arts degree, and the seminary’s early forays into online theological education.
With deep ties across denominational lines and continents, Watson brings a global vision that aligns with Asbury’s mission to serve the worldwide Church. He has been active in church renewal, mission work, and theological dialogue internationally.
Watson holds degrees from Texas Tech University and Southern Methodist University. Ordained in the United Methodist Church, he is an elder in the Global Methodist Church and was a delegate to its 2024 General Conference.
He is the lead editor of Firebrand magazine, a podcast co-host, and a widely published author. He and his wife, Harriet, have three children: Luke, Sean, and Ciara.

Ángel Pérez-López
St. John Vianney Seminary
On the day the Catholic Church celebrates the feast of St. Joseph (March 19), St. John Vianney Seminary marked a historic occasion by installing Father Ángel Pérez-López as the seminary’s fifth rector. The first alumnus to lead the community, he succeeds Father Daniel Leonard, who will be on sabbatical after eight years of faithful leadership.
Pérez-López brings a rich background of pastoral, academic, and administrative experience. Formerly the vicar for clergy and pastor of St. Cajetan parish in Denver, he served the Archdiocese in numerous capacities. At St. John Vianney Seminary, he taught philosophy and theology for more than a decade, published seven books and 18 scholarly articles, and contributed significantly to faculty life, including leadership on the Faculty Development Committee.
His academic credentials include a Ph.L., a Ph.D., and an S.T.L., all earned from the Pontifical University of the Holy Cross in Rome.

Mark Husbands
President, Denver Seminary
Celebrating its 75th anniversary, Denver Seminary has appointed Mark Husbands, Ph.D., as its eighth president. He succeeds Mark Young, Ph.D., who led the seminary for 15 years; Young is now the seminary’s chancellor.
Husbands most recently served as the fifth president and vice-chancellor of Trinity Western University (TWU) in Langley, British Columbia. He previously held faculty and administrative positions at Tyndale Seminary, Wheaton College, Hope College and Northwestern College, where he served as vice president for academic affairs.
He earned his Ph.D. in theology from the University of Toronto and completed the Oxford Strategic Leadership Programme at the University of Oxford’s Saïd Business School. A respected scholar, Husbands has taught and published widely in Christian doctrine, ethics, political theology, and World Christianity.
He and his wife, Becky, are the parents of three adult children: Olivia, Elliott, and Ethan.

Christopher Redcay
Saint Charles Borromeo Seminary
Archbishop Nelson J. Pérez, the Archbishop of Philadelphia, has announced the appointment of the Rev. Christopher Redcay as the next rector of Saint Charles Borromeo Seminary, effective July 1, 2025. Redcay, currently director of spiritual formation for theology division students, will succeed Bishop Keith J. Chylinski, who served as rector since 2022.
Redcay brings more than three decades of pastoral, educational, and spiritual leadership to his new role. Following his graduation from Saint Charles Borromeo Seminary and his ordination to the priesthood in 1989, Redcay began ministry as a parochial vicar at Holy Innocents Parish in Philadelphia. He has held educational and pastoral roles at schools and parishes in the Diocese of Philadelphia.
A 1980 graduate of Bishop Kenrick High School in Norristown, Pennsylvania, Redcay completed training in spiritual direction at the Institute for Priestly Formation in Omaha, Nebraska.

Enzo Del Brocco, C.P.
Catholic Theological Union
The board of trustees of catholic Theological Union (CTU) in Chicago, Illinois, has announced the appointment of Father Salvatore Enzo Del Brocco, C.P., Ph.D., as the institution’s next president. Enzo assumed the presidency in July 2025.
He succeeds Sister Barbara Reid, O.P., CTU’s seventh president, who will continue in her faculty appointment following the transition.
Born in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, Del Brocco spent his formative years in Italy, where he joined the Passionist Order in 1991 and was ordained in 1996. He holds a licentiate in moral theology, a master’s degree in human resources, and a doctorate in healthcare ethics.
Fluent in six languages, his academic and pastoral journey has taken him around the world; he is recognized for engaging diverse communities in meaningful theological discourse.
He also has held myriad leadership positions within the Passionist Order in Italy, including vocation director, formator, secretary to the superior general, and provincial superior. He currently serves on the U.S. Provincial Council.
As a provincial Superior in Italy, he collaborated with the Community of Sant’Egidio in one of Naples’ underserved neighborhoods. He also ministered to marginalized youth in Haiti.
Del Brocco previously served as an adjunct professor of ethics at CTU and taught a course on human dignity, cyberworld, and the ethical challenges and opportunities of artificial intelligence.

Stephanie L. Krusemark
Starr King School for the Ministry
In may, the board of directors at Starr King School for the Ministry announced the appointment of Stephanie L. Krusemark, Ph.D., as the Oakland, California, institution’s next president. With more than 20 years of experience in higher education leadership, Krusemark brings a wealth of expertise in strategic enrollment management, student success, and institutional transformation.
A scholar-practitioner with a doctorate in higher education from the University of Denver, Krusemark has served in senior roles at Iliff School of Theology, Naropa University, Santa Clara University, and others. Her published research explores mentorship, access, and equity in higher education, and she serves on national boards such as the American Association of Collegiate Registrars and Admissions Officers’ Strategic Enrollment Management Editorial Board.
Raised in an interfaith household in Minnesota and drawn to the Unitarian Universalist tradition as a young adult, Krusemark embodies the values at the heart of Starr King’s mission: compassion, justice, and collective care, according to the announcement of her appointment. She will work alongside her predecessor, the Rev. Rosemary Bray McNatt, who served since 2014.
