Voting-eligible member schools of the In Trust Center for Theological Schools recently elected four new members to serve on the In Trust Center’s board of directors. Thirty-five percent of eligible member schools voted, electing four new members.


Board of Directors Class of 2019


Professor Anne Anderson, C.S.J.

  • Board Chair, St. Joseph’s Health System, Diocese of Hamilton, Ontario
  • Former President and Vice Chancellor, University of St. Michael's College, University of Toronto
  • Former Board Chair, Catholic Health Association of Ontario
  • Former Chair, Commission on Accrediting, Association of Theological Schools in the United States and Canada

Anne Anderson was dean of the Faculty of Theology of the University of St. Michael’s College from 2001 to 2008 and then served as the university's chief executive from 2008 to 2015. A Roman Catholic, she is a member of the Sisters of St. Joseph of Toronto and currently chairs the board of St. Joseph’s Health System in the Diocese of Hamilton, Ontario. She has also chaired the board of the Catholic Health Association of Ontario and has served on the board of the Catholic Health Association of Canada. She continues to represent St. Michael's on the board of the Bat Kol Institute in Jerusalem.


Dr. Byron D. Klaus

  • Vice President, Latin America ChildCare
  • Retired President, Assemblies of God Theological Seminary
  • Former member of the faculty and administration, Vanguard University of Southern California

Byron Klaus recently retired after 16 years as president of the Assemblies of God Theological Seminary in Springfield, Missouri. He previously served for 20 years on the faculty and in the administration of Vanguard University of Southern California.

Klaus serves as vice president of Latin America ChildCare, a ministry that reaches more than 100,000 children in the Caribbean and Latin America. He also serves as a consultant for educational and ministry leaders. His regular commentary on faith and culture, as well as his radio spots and op-ed articles, have recently been released in book form as That's the Way I See It. He is an ordained Assemblies of God minister.

Mr. Robert S. Landrebe

  • Senior Vice President and Chief Operating Officer, Asbury Theological Seminary
  • Former Executive Vice President and Chief Financial Officer, Gordon-Conwell Theological Seminary
  • Former Vice President of Operations and Chief Financial Officer, World Relief


Bob Landrebe joined the Asbury Seminary administration as senior vice president and chief operating officer in 2012. His experience in senior administration includes 16 years of service as the executive vice president and chief financial officer for Gordon-Conwell Theological Seminary and 13 years as vice president of operations and chief financial officer for World Relief. A lay person, he attends Southland Christian Church in Lexington, Kentucky.

Landrebe is widely respected among theological school leaders as an expert in economic viability. He has been an In Trust Governance Mentor, and he developed In Trust's tools that have been used throughout higher education to assess economic viability, including the Financial Health Checkup, the Institutional Health Checklist, and the Strategic Financial Planner. During his career in education, Landrebe has developed new tuition structures, innovative partnership models, and creative admissions strategies that simultaneously increased enrollment and reduced overall student indebtedness.


Dr. Frank M. Yamada


  • President, McCormick Theological Seminary
  • Former Co-Chair and Steering Committee Member of the Asian American Biblical Hermeneutics Group, Society of Biblical Literature

Frank Yamada joined the faculty of McCormick Theological Seminary in 2008 as the director of the Center for Asian American Ministries and associate professor of Hebrew Bible; he was named president of the seminary in 2011. Before joining McCormick, he taught Hebrew Bible at Seabury-Western Theological Seminary for nine years. He has also taught in the Course of Study at Garrett-Evangelical Theological Seminary and in the D.Min. program of the Association of Chicago Theological Schools.

Yamada was an editor and contributor to The People's Bible, a cross-cultural study Bible from Augsburg Fortress, and has written for the Christian Century and other publications. He is a minister of Word and Sacrament in the Presbyterian Church (U.S.A.).
