One of the critical factors in the success of our theological institutions is clearly defining and monitoring the parameters within which the board desires the president to operate. When conflicts arise between the governing board and its chief executive, often it is the result of poorly articulated leadership expectations shaped by mutually agreed upon policies, practices, and means for evaluation. In this session, we consider the policies, practices, and key performance indicators most helpful to supporting the essential partnership between the president and the governing board.
