The Newsletter for Chairs of Theological School Boards
Vol. 3 No. 11
Resourcing you to accomplish your work
More than a year ago, we launched our Governance Initiative to conduct a deeper study of boards and governance of theological schools and provide new opportunities for governing and advisory boards. One of the things we found is that boards need space to grow and develop, so we created Board Development Grants.
These grants provide a unique opportunity to help governing and advisory boards by providing funding to help advance their strategic priorities. The grants of up to $10,000 support schools in launching board-development projects that are action-oriented.
The grants should result in tangible outcomes for boards. For example, they could include creating or revising board policies or other governance documents.
I invite you to learn more about the program and consider applying. You can learn more about the Board Development Grants, including FAQs, here. You can also apply on that page as well.
There’s an informational webinar for board chairs and executive leaders at 1 p.m. ET on Wednesday, August 13. You can sign up for the webinar here. All members of the In Trust Center are eligible as long as they’re not currently participating in either Cohort 8 of the Wise Stewards Initiative or are currently participating in a Board Development Grant cycle.
I’m excited about all the interest we’ve received for this grant, and so far, the way that schools are engaging in board work has been amazing.. We’d love to hear more about what you’re doing to advance your board work or what would help you do so. Would you let us know? You can email the team here.
Thanks for all you do in theological education.
