News & Insights

The cover of the Autumn 2008 issue of In Trust magazine read Earthen Vessels: A Hopeful Look at the Future of Theological Education. And the main story in that issue was a conversation with Daniel O. Aleshire, executive director of the Association of Theological Schools in the United States and Canada. Aleshire had just come out with a book titled Earthen Vessels -- his exploration of why North American churches still need theological schools, and what the future of theological education might look like. Boards and staff affiliated with In Trust's member schools can read the full text of the interview here (to read the full text, you must first create a username and password, if you don't already have one, and log in).

The Christian Century has just published its annual issue on theological education, and in it is a review of Aleshire's book by Dale T. Irvin, president and professor of world Christianity at New York Theological Seminary.

You may want to take a look at Irvin's review in the Century, which is here.
