What is Resource Consulting?

Resource Consulting is a free service for In Trust Center members and affiliates, which supports institutions as they focus on achieving their mission. Our Resource Consultants connect you with the best resources, then guide you to define challenges, discern directions, and initiate solutions.

What are Resources?

A resource is any outside element that, when added to your internal assets, helps you achieve your mission. Resources can be organizations, consultants, websites, articles, assessment tools, books, peer institutions, webinars, and colleagues.

Our Learning Model

Resource Consulting is based on a well-established learning model of institutional change that states sustained and effective organizational learning comes when an institution augments its own assets and creativity with appropriate external resources. Combining internal assets with external resources like knowledge, tools, and talent empowers leaders to address challenges and take advantage of opportunities.
What are the assets that an institution brings to the table? Every school has them in abundance: to start – the leadership team, faculty, and staff; the school’s theological and institutional traditions; the particular context of the institution, including its financial resources, whether great or small; and of course, its board and constituents.
External, outside resources include expert consultants, assessment tools, websites, peer institutions, and other resource organizations.

A Nonspecialist Approach

In Trust Center’s Resource Consultants engage in meaningful dialogue, actively listen, and assist our members to identify their individual issues and concerns. Above all, they avoid the pitfalls of providing unwanted assistance, excessive support, or unaligned solutions that do not fit the needs of the member school.
