News & Insights

Rev. Dr. Jeffrey Kuan, president of Claremont School of Theology in Claremont, California, and Rev. Frederick Davie, executive vice president of Union Theological Seminary in New York, were among several theological leaders who participated in the prayer service after President Joe Biden’s inauguration.

The interfaith, interdenominational prayer service was done virtually. President Biden participated from the White House, while participants came from around the country.

Davie served as a liturgist, introducing a section of Christian prayer. Kuan, a member of the In Trust board of directors, was one of the ministers who prayed. Rev. Dr. William Barber II, a senior fellow of Auburn Theological Seminary in New York, gave the homily. And Rev. Dr. Alexia Salvatierra, who’s on the faculty of Fuller Theological Seminary, also prayed.
