Elizabeth Palmer Bennett, CPA, CFE, joined the In Trust Center for Theological Schools as vice president for operations and chief financial officer in 2025. She oversees the finances and operations of the organization, bringing deep expertise in higher education, nonprofits, and corporate finance.
She has served as CFO, controller, and auditor and is active in accreditation work as a peer reviewer and commissioner for the Association of Theological Schools and as a peer reviewer for the Middle States Commission on Higher Education.
Before joining the In Trust Center, Bennett was vice president for finance and administration and CFO at Lancaster Theological Seminary in Pennsylvania, where she helped lead the merger of the seminary with Moravian University. She also spent nearly a decade at Lancaster Seminary, developing a strong understanding of the challenges and opportunities facing theological schools today.
Bennett holds professional designations as both a certified public accountant and a certified fraud examiner, and she brings to her role a rare blend of financial acumen, sector-wide experience, and a commitment to supporting institutions of theological education.
