Board member evaluation

A seminary board is only as effective as its individual members. In Trust recommends board members assess their personal performances at three strategic points in their terms of service:

• Immediately after they assume seats on their boards
• During term-renewal discussions
• In conjunction with an In Trust Board Performance Audit

Benefits
In Trust has designed its Individual Board Member Performance Evaluation to help board members determine how well they are meeting their personal expectations for board service and how well they are meeting the expectations of their colleagues. The evaluation focuses on problem analysis, strategic thinking, communication skills, goal setting, teamwork, and relationship building. When combined with the Board Performance Audit, the assessment gives a comprehensive understanding of the board’s effectiveness.
