In January, In Trust publisher Jay Blossom gave a presentation on “Social Media and Institutional Conflict” at the Presidential Leadership Intensive of the Association of Theological Schools. Blossom’s theme: The communications practices that seminary leaders can employ in normal times—keeping the mission central, being clear about goals, and cultivating an authentic voice—serve a school especially well when it’s rocked by unexpected bad news.

Now, thanks to the generosity of the Brookhill Foundation, a 17-minute video of Blossom’s talk is available at The video features the original presentation and slides, plus remarks from an audience of seminary presidents, all of whom are navigating the flood tide of social media.
